Ikorodu City continued their impressive form in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a convincing 2–0 away victory over Warri Wolves on Sunday, moving within two points of the league summit.
Tomisin Adebayo opened the scoring for the Oga Boys in the 18th minute at Ozoro, before Goodluck Anuba doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time. The result marks Ikorodu City’s fourth win in five matches and extends their unbeaten streak to seven games.
The victory sees Ikorodu City rise to third place on 21 points, just two behind leaders Nasarawa United and one behind second-placed Abia Warriors.
Elsewhere, Rangers secured a narrow 1–0 win against Shooting Stars at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. Chidozie Iwundu’s 27th-minute strike proved decisive, lifting the Flying Antelopes to 10th place on 16 points, level with Shooting Stars who remain in the bottom half of the table.
In the Abia Derby, Abia Warriors and Enyimba played out a goalless draw in Umuahia. The stalemate leaves Abia Warriors second on 22 points, just one behind Nasarawa United, while Enyimba remain sixth with 17 points after the tense but cagey affair, marking the 20th topflight meeting between the two sides.
