Nollywood actor Tayo Amokade, widely known as Ijebu, has called on law enforcement agencies to examine the circumstances surrounding a controversial TikTok livestream involving content creator King Mitchy.
The incident, which unfolded on Saturday, reportedly occurred amid her ongoing online dispute with social media personality VeryDarkMan. During the broadcast, King Mitchy was alleged to have ingested harmful household substances.
Following the livestream, her management team announced that she had died, a statement that ignited widespread reactions across social media platforms. The development reignited conversations about cyberbullying and the mental strain linked to digital conflicts.
Reacting publicly, Ijebu expressed deep concern over the potential consequences such online content could have on young viewers. He emphasized that cleaning agents and similar products are not meant for consumption and warned that broadcasting such acts may send dangerous messages to impressionable audiences.
The actor urged security agencies, particularly those monitoring digital platforms, to take swift action. He noted that teenagers and young adults form a significant portion of social media users and are highly influenced by popular content creators.
Ijebu also stressed that influencers, especially those with large followings among Gen Z audiences, should act responsibly and avoid content that could encourage harmful behavior. He appealed to authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure accountability where necessary.
The incident has intensified scrutiny of online conduct, with many Nigerians calling for stronger safeguards to protect vulnerable users from harmful digital trends.
