The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu (IGP) has visited victims of the recent improvised explosive device (IED) attacks receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri.

As part of a hands-on assessment, the IGP also inspected the bombing site at the Maiduguri Monday Market to evaluate the situation and bolster the police response.
Following the site visit, Disu proceeded to the Borno State Government House and the State Police Command Headquarters for high-level consultations aimed at reviewing current security measures and strengthening coordinated operations across the state.
He extended condolences to victims and their families, assuring the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s determination to dismantle networks responsible for the attacks and prevent any future incidents.
“The police are committed to ensuring the safety of all residents. Security has been significantly reinforced with increased deployments, enhanced surveillance, and joint operational strategies across Maiduguri and surrounding areas,” Disu said.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to respond swiftly to terror threats while reassuring the community of heightened vigilance and proactive security measures.
