The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has welcomed the renewed push by young people to register as voters, but expressed concern that political interference in the Niko Kadi campaign could spark tensions among rival factions and disrupt ongoing voter registration.
The Commission remains confident of reaching its target of 2.5 million new voters in the month-long exercise beginning Monday. The mass voter registration drive will, however, be suspended in areas conducting by-elections or with active election petitions, including Mbeere, Malava, and Samburu West.
