Nigerian rapper and singer, Ice Prince Zamani, has dismissed speculation about his recent weight loss, saying it resulted from a deliberate lifestyle change, not illness.
The “Oleku” hitmaker took to social media platform X on Monday to share his story, revealing that he decided to lose weight after realizing how much his unhealthy habits were affecting him.
According to him, the transformation began when music producer Chopstix and a close friend encouraged him to start walking regularly and focus on his health.
“No sickness, just bad habits and choices,” Ice Prince wrote. “Chopstix and Dami said, ‘Let’s lose the belly, Ice,’ and that really got me thinking. From that day, Chopstix started coming to my house every night after dinner, and we walked around my estate for an hour. Those talks during our walks are priceless.”
The artist expressed gratitude for his friends’ support, describing their evening walks as both therapeutic and inspiring.
Ice Prince’s post comes amid growing public curiosity about celebrity transformations. In recent years, several Nigerian entertainers have made headlines for significant weight changes.
Actress Eniola Badmus famously dropped about 80 kilograms in 2022, while Mercy Johnson-Okojie faced public speculation earlier this year after revealing that her weight loss followed a thyroid surgery.
Ice Prince’s openness about his journey underscores a wider shift among Nigerian celebrities who are prioritizing health and wellness, beyond the spotlight.
