Versatile Nollywood star Ibrahim Chatta is making headlines after reports of his impressive earnings surfaced on social media.
In a trending interview, veteran actor Mustapha Bakare Oloto disclosed that Chatta currently earns ₦5 million per movie, positioning him among the highest-paid actors in the Nigerian film industry.
Oloto, speaking in a viral video, explained that many seasoned actors struggle to finance or produce cinema-standard films due to low pay and limited opportunities.
According to him, while most veteran actors receive between ₦250,000 and ₦300,000 per role and appear in only one or two films a month, Chatta’s demand and workload are significantly higher.
“If Ibrahim Chatta appears on a movie set, he has been paid ₦5 million. That’s what he currently charges,” Oloto stated. “He’s the highest-paid actor right now. I even brought him to my movie, Jigi, which we shot in Ogbomoso recently.”
Oloto added that Chatta’s growing influence in the industry allows him to take on multiple projects monthly, further widening the pay gap between top-billed actors and their veteran counterparts.
The revelation has stirred conversations across Nollywood circles, highlighting the growing disparity in actors’ earnings and reigniting discussions about fair compensation and industry sustainability.
