The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), Francis Agoha, has restated the company’s commitment to delivering improved power supply and enhancing customer experience across its coverage areas.
Agoha gave the assurance during an interactive session tagged “Breakfast Meeting with Managing Directors and Key Customers” held on Thursday at the Jogor Centre in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The engagement brought together top business executives and industrial consumers within the IBEDC network to discuss recurring challenges such as voltage fluctuations, inconsistent power supply, and slow response to technical faults.
Speaking at the event, Agoha said the initiative was designed to foster open dialogue between the company and its major clients, with the ultimate goal of building trust and jointly resolving service-related concerns.
“We want to understand our customers’ challenges and jointly chart a way forward,” he said. “This will be a periodic engagement to help us track progress on the issues raised and ensure continuous improvement. Our goal is for customers to truly appreciate the quality of our supply and services.”
The IBEDC boss also assured that internal accountability measures were in place to ensure quick resolution of complaints raised during the meeting.
“I am holding my colleagues responsible for ensuring that the problems identified here are promptly addressed. We have taken note of the key issues affecting our major customers and are fully ready to resolve them,” he added.
IBEDC pledges better service delivery
Agoha explained that the company had already begun implementing reforms aimed at delivering tangible improvements in service delivery, including infrastructure upgrades and enhanced response systems.
He noted that the meeting itself was a reflection of IBEDC’s renewed commitment to accountability and customer engagement, adding that such forums would be held regularly to review progress.
Participants at the event applauded the initiative, describing it as a positive step toward building a more reliable, transparent, and customer-focused power distribution system in the region.
Many business leaders also expressed readiness to collaborate with IBEDC in addressing electricity supply challenges and improving service outcomes for both industrial and residential consumers.
