Arsenal legend Ian Wright has tipped Brighton & Hove Albion to defeat Chelsea in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues are seeking redemption after their 2-1 loss to Manchester United last weekend and currently sit sixth in the league with five games played. Brighton, meanwhile, are 14th, with just one win in five matches, but head into the fixture full of confidence after thrashing Barnsley 6-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Wright said:
“Brighton are going to beat them. I would rather go with Brighton from what I’ve seen.”
However, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher disagreed, predicting a Chelsea response:
“I’m going for a Chelsea win and they’ll win 2-1.”
The highly anticipated encounter will see Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea attempt to avoid back-to-back league defeats while Brighton look to capitalize on their midweek momentum.
