Nollywood actress and media personality, Omotunde Adebowale-David, widely known as Lolo 1, has said she prefers polygamy to men engaging in secret extramarital relationships.
Speaking on a recent podcast alongside fellow actress Bimbo Akintola, Lolo 1 shared her stance on modern relationships, stressing that honesty should take precedence over societal judgment.
“I would rather a man be polygamous than for him to be married and have a side chick. That’s the one I would not contend with,” she said.
According to her, polygamy, though often criticized, allows for a certain level of fairness and transparency among partners, unlike “side-chick culture,” which she believes promotes deceit and emotional imbalance.
Bimbo Akintola, who joined in the conversation, agreed that the culture of secret affairs evolved from societal pressure on men to marry “wife material” instead of women they genuinely love.
She emphasized that openness and sincerity are essential to building healthy, lasting relationships.
