Veteran Nollywood actress Rose Odika has described herself as one of the most decent figures in the Nigerian movie industry.
“To burst your bubble, I am one of the most decent actors you have out there,” she said during a recent interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo.
Opening up about her personal life, Odika recounted her marriage experience, revealing how she endured five years of waiting before conceiving her only child.
“We got married and unfortunately the children weren’t coming. I didn’t get pregnant for the first five years. My baby was one year and two months when we separated finally. That’s the only child I have,” she explained.
The actress emphasized the importance of walking away from toxic marriages, warning that no relationship is worth one’s peace of mind or life.
“No need for toxic marriage, it isn’t worth it. It isn’t worth your life,” she said.
Odika also advised that men who choose to marry actresses should respect and support their careers rather than expect them to abandon it.
“A man who met you as an actor should marry you as an actor. If he cannot stay with it, then he should go,” she added.
Reflecting on her career, the actress noted that she began acting professionally in 1989 but only rose to fame four years later.
“I started acting professionally in 1989, but I came into the limelight in 1993,” she recalled.
With more than three decades in Nollywood, Rose Odika continues to be celebrated as one of the industry’s most enduring stars.
