HIM won’t change that narrative. Featuring Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers, the film follows a young, talented football player who accepts a request to train with a legendary but aging quarterback at an isolated compound.
What follows is a harrowing nightmare that pushes his mind, body, and soul to the breaking point. Marlon Wayans politely disagreed with the critics who panned his film (31 per cent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes), arguing that they could not fully appreciate the project’s genius.
However, audiences were just as unimpressed (58 per cent audience score), which explains the $22 million HIM has earned worldwide since September 18 (on a budget of $27 million). You can watch HIM in cinemas today.
