The Super Eagles’ scheduled team walk ahead of today’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho was cancelled due to heavy rainfall in Polokwane.
The downpour, which lasted for several hours, disrupted pre-match preparations and forced the players to remain indoors for safety reasons.
However, conditions around the New Peter Mokaba Stadium — venue of the match — have since improved ahead of the 5pm kick-off (Nigerian time), according to reports.
Nigeria, who currently sit third in Group C with 11 points from eight matches, must secure a win to keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.
The encounter is seen as a must-win for Eric Chelle’s men, as they look to close the gap on Benin Republic and South Africa, who lead the group standings.
