The Nigeria National League (NNL) club Gombe United immediately appointed Haruna Abdullahi as their new Technical Adviser following the decisive suspension of Umar Abdullahi Tyabo from his post on Monday. Abdullahi now assumes leadership of the first team on an interim basis until the club issues further directives concerning the position.
Under the fresh operational structure, Suleiman Usman Kalala steps into the role of Chief Coach, taking charge of the day-to-day training and preparation of the squad.
In an entirely separate but synchronized action, the Gombe United management confirmed they released eight players whom the club deemed surplus to requirements, executing a significant roster clear-out. The club’s management officially expressed sincere gratitude to the technical staff who departed and the released players for the contributions they provided during their time with the team.
Gombe United’s next competitive engagement in the Nigerian second division will see the team clash with Jigawa Golden Stars. The new technical team must now quickly prepare the squad for this crucial fixture to stabilize results in the competitive Nigeria National League season.
