Nigerian singer Harrysong has broken his silence following claims by his ex-wife, Alexer Peres, who recently announced she was relinquishing custody of their two children.
Alexer had earlier taken to Instagram to allege harassment and interference, accusing the singer of being largely absent from the children’s lives and leaving their care in the hands of domestic staff.
Reacting to the claims, Harrysong rejected the allegations, stating that he has never denied his ex-wife access to the children. He described himself as a responsible and present father who consistently provides for their needs.
In a public statement, the singer explained that his decision to avoid extended online exchanges was deliberate, saying he wanted to shield the children from narratives that could affect their image and future opportunities.
Harrysong said the custody arrangement was made for reasons he could not disclose publicly, stressing that the matter was not as simple as portrayed on social media. He added that he remained financially and emotionally involved in his children’s lives, even during periods when they were in their mother’s care.
He also expressed hurt over what he described as a damaging narrative circulating online, warning that prolonged public disputes could undermine the very career that supports the children.
The singer emphasised that his priority remains the safety, well-being, and overall development of his children, adding that he would not engage in public back-and-forth that could negatively affect them in the future.
The custody issue has continued to draw public attention, with related developments sparking debate across social media and entertainment circles.
