Harry Kane scored twice to bring up 100 goals for Bayern Munich as the German champions cruised to a 4-0 win over Werder Bremen on Friday, maintaining their perfect Bundesliga start.
The England striker reached the milestone in just 104 games, becoming the fastest player to net a century of goals for a single club in Europe’s top-five leagues, surpassing the 105-game record jointly held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland.
Kane, who is averaging two goals per game this Bundesliga season, won and converted a penalty just before halftime to notch his 99th Bayern goal before side-footing home his landmark strike 20 minutes after the break.
Jonathan Tah and Konrad Laimer were also on target as Bayern celebrated the opening weekend of Oktoberfest with a fifth win from five league matches.
The former Tottenham star now has 15 goals in eight games across all competitions this term, amid transfer speculation linking him with Barcelona and a possible Premier League return next summer.
However, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund dismissed the rumours, insisting Kane is “having fun here and working hard,” adding: “This is the best Harry Kane we’ve ever seen.”
