Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that a Lagos concert featuring Saheed Osupa, Rybeena, KS 1 Malaika, T.I Blaze, and 81 other musicians set the record for the largest orchestra performing Afrobeats.
The milestone was achieved during Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre. Guinness verified that 85 musicians performed together under a conductor, accompanied by a lead singer, choir, dancers, and coordinated orchestral arrangements.
In an Instagram post, the organisers celebrated the achievement, highlighting the fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji, and orchestral brilliance.
“Glad to announce that Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience has been officially reviewed, verified, and confirmed by Guinness World Records for the Largest Orchestra for an Afrobeats Concert,” the organisers stated.
The event featured unforgettable performances from artists including Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, and Dwillsharmony, alongside Fuji legends KS 1 Malaika and King Saheed Osupa.
According to Guinness World Records, the coordinated orchestral presentation involved a conductor leading the 85 musicians alongside a lead singer, choir, and dancers, all performing in perfect synchronisation.
The concert showcased how Afrobeats can merge with orchestral arrangements to create large-scale performances that unite musicians and audiences, highlighting the richness and versatility of Nigeria’s contemporary music scene.
Dapper Live & Artists, the team behind the record-breaking event, is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who is also known for his collaboration with celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci.
The achievement not only celebrates Afrobeats on a global stage but also reinforces Nigeria’s growing influence in large-scale musical productions.
