Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he expects Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool to drop “few” points as the title race intensifies.
Arsenal will host Crystal Palace on Sunday as they aim to protect their three-point advantage at the top of the table. Mikel Arteta’s men are currently in strong form, having secured six straight victories while conceding just once across those matches.
City, however, slipped further behind after their 3-2 loss to Brentford on Saturday, leaving the champions four points adrift of the leaders. The defeat also pushed Liverpool down to sixth place.
Despite the setback, Guardiola remains confident that the title chase is still wide open.
“I have that feeling with Arsenal, with Liverpool as well.
“I always had the feeling that both teams and maybe another one, they will lose a few points. That’s why we have to be there.”
The City manager emphasised the need for his side to stay within touching distance as the season progresses, underscoring the competitive nature of the Premier League title battle.
