Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has playfully admitted he is hoping Arsenal will finally concede a goal, as the Gunners continue their remarkable defensive run.
Guardiola made the remark after City’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday, where Erling Haaland scored twice to help the champions close the gap at the top to six points.
Arsenal, who currently sit top of the Premier League table, have not conceded in their last seven matches across all competitions, maintaining a near-perfect start to the campaign.
When asked if his side could catch up with the Gunners in the title race, Guardiola said:
“Well, hopefully, Arsenal can concede one goal one day. It is not easy for them.
It’s just 10 games, there are 28 more to play and many, many things will happen.”
City will now turn their attention to a crucial clash against Liverpool next weekend — a fixture that could have significant implications in this season’s Premier League title race.
