Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described Arsenal as “the most solid team in Europe” ahead of their Premier League showdown at the Emirates this Sunday.
Speaking to the media, Guardiola praised his former assistant Mikel Arteta, crediting him for building “an unbelievable squad” over the last five transfer windows.
“Mikel is an extraordinary manager,” Guardiola said. “What they’ve done in increasing the squad in these four, five transfer windows… it’s an unbelievable squad and an unbelievable team – one of the toughest opponents you can find right now in Europe.”
Both clubs go into the clash fresh from Champions League wins, with Arsenal beating Athletic Club 2-0 in Spain and City defeating Napoli 2-0 at the Etihad.
City are seeking their first win over Arsenal in their last five meetings, after suffering a 5-1 defeat to the Gunners in February.
