It’s Bad Bunny’s world, and the Puerto Rican rapper is owning it. The superstar, who received six nominations this year, took home three Grammys, including the historic Album of the Year award for Debí Tirar Más Fotos the first Spanish-language album in Grammy history to earn the top honor.
Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny now has six Grammy wins and 17 Latin Grammy Awards to his name. During his acceptance speech, he dedicated the album win “to all the people who had to leave their homeland to follow their dreams.”
Earlier in the night, he also took aim at US Immigration and Customs Enforcement amid ongoing anti-ICE protests across Los Angeles and the country.
In addition to Album of the Year, Bad Bunny won Best Global Music Performance for “EoO” and Best Música Urbana Album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
“To all the Latinos in the world and all the artists who came before who deserved to be on this stage, thank you,” he said. “There’s nothing we can’t do.”
Bad Bunny arrived at the Crypto.com Arena red carpet in downtown Los Angeles in a striking black-and-white Schiaparelli tuxedo. While the front featured dramatic shoulders, the back was laced-up for a bold finish. He accessorised with a white corsage, rings, a single hoop earring, and subtle jewelry.
With his historic wins and strong advocacy, Bad Bunny’s night was both a personal triumph and a landmark moment for Latin music on the Grammy stage.
