Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has expressed delight over hosting Nigerian music superstar Davido, who kicked off the Nigerian leg of his 5ive Alive World Tour in the state.
Governor Eno described the visit as a major endorsement of Akwa Ibom’s growing reputation for peace, tourism, and world-class infrastructure.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the governor shared photos from Davido’s visit, writing:
“Last night, we hosted music icon @davido here in Akwa Ibom, and he made history by choosing our state as the first stop in Nigeria for his global tour.
He said Akwa Ibom stood out because of our world-class facilities, peace, and hospitality, describing everything about our state as beautiful.”
Governor Eno added that Davido’s choice of Akwa Ibom highlights the state’s rising profile as a youth-friendly and tourism-driven destination.
He also praised the artist for acknowledging the state government’s efforts to create a welcoming environment for young creatives and entrepreneurs.
“I appreciate Davido for recognising our efforts to make Akwa Ibom a youth-friendly and tourism-driven state. His success story inspires our young people to believe that with commitment and consistency, their dreams are possible,” he said.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to development, Governor Eno affirmed that Akwa Ibom remains open to entertainment, investment, and economic growth.
“Akwa Ibom is open, peaceful, and ready, not just for entertainment, but for investment and development,” he added.
Davido’s visit and performance mark another milestone for the state as it continues to attract national and international attention as a cultural and tourism hub in Nigeria.
