Super Falcons defender Miracle Usani has received a ₦50 million cash reward and a plot of land from Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu in recognition of her contribution to Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Governor Otu also announced Usani’s appointment as the state’s sports ambassador during a special reception held in her honour at the Government House, Calabar.
The 18-year-old left-back was part of Justine Madugu’s victorious squad and made one appearance during the tournament — her first major title with the Super Falcons.
Governor Otu praised Usani for bringing pride to the state and urged other young athletes to emulate her dedication and excellence on the global stage.
