Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Anabraba, a former Minority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, represented Akuku-Toru Constituency II during his time in the legislature.
He replaces Dr. Tammy Danagogo, who served as SSG from the second term of former Governor Nyesom Wike—now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory—through the first two years of Fubara’s administration.
According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Honour Sirawoo, the new SSG will be sworn in on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., in the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.
Governor Fubara’s appointment of Anabraba is seen as part of ongoing efforts to reposition his administration and strengthen governance structures in the state.
