Veteran gospel musician Deborah Fasoyin has dismissed widespread reports claiming she had died, describing the viral claims as false and misleading.
The respected Christ Apostolic Church singer, known for her enduring Yoruba gospel song Odun n Lo Sopin, addressed the rumours in a video message shared online.
In the clip, Fasoyin reassured supporters that she remains alive and in good health, noting that the reports circulating on social media platforms were unfounded.
The gospel singer, who marked her 86th birthday on March 1, 2026, said she continues to enjoy good health and remains grateful for the concern expressed by fans and well-wishers.
“I am happy to tell you that I’m hale and hearty and what you’ve seen on Facebook is fake,” she said in the video.
Fasoyin also expressed optimism about her future, saying she believes she will continue to live in strength and peace.
She added that when her time eventually comes, she hopes to pass on at an old age without illness or suffering, drawing inspiration from the biblical patriarch Abraham.
The singer’s statement has helped calm concerns among fans who had reacted to the rumour circulating online earlier.
