Nigerian gospel singer and Nollywood soundtrack vocalist Onos Brisibi has died at the age of 55.
Brisibi passed away on March 23, 2026, following a prolonged illness, bringing to a close a career defined by her soulful voice and deep spiritual influence.
She was widely recognised for her vocal contributions to classic Nollywood films such as Domitilla and Blood Money, where her music added emotional depth to storytelling on screen.
Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo paid tribute to the late singer in an emotional Instagram post, describing her as a devoted Christian and a gifted minister whose songs uplifted many.
He revealed that Brisibi, born on November 20, 1970, hailed from Aladja in Udu, Delta State, and was the daughter of Apostle Ambrose Oproze Brisibi and Deaconess Mary Koko Brisibi.
Reflecting on their close relationship, Mofe-Damijo shared personal memories of her warmth, humour, and vibrant personality, noting that she remained full of life even during her final days.
He described her as someone who not only sang but ministered through music, touching lives and strengthening faith among listeners.
Brisibi is survived by her daughter, Sarah, her mother, siblings, and extended family members.
