Manchester United icon Gary Neville has expressed confidence that Arsenal are on course to secure the Premier League trophy this season. Neville further suggested that Mikel Arteta’s current squad has the quality to also lift the UEFA Champions League, though he believes that milestone may come within the next two or three campaigns.
The Gunners strengthened their position at the summit of the Premier League table after recording a 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby, extending their lead by six points on Sunday. The emphatic victory has intensified discussions among analysts and supporters who believe Arsenal are primed to end their 22-year wait for the domestic crown. Neville is among those convinced that Arteta’s men are ready to turn that expectation into reality.
“It’s not only a squad that should go on and win the Premier League, it’s a squad that I can see winning the Champions League in the next two or three years,” the Manchester United hero told The Gary Neville Podcast.
“It might not be this season because sometimes when you go on to win your first Premier League, you can get so consumed by that that you get done in a European game midweek in a two-legged tie.
“But they’re getting to that level of performance, resilience, stability, and consistency.”
With Arsenal showing strong momentum, tactical maturity, scoring efficiency, and squad depth, Neville’s remarks add further weight to the growing belief that Arteta’s team are ready to dominate both English and European football in the near future.
