Manchester United legend Gary Neville has questioned Chelsea’s attacking strength, insisting that summer signings Joao Pedro and Liam Delap are not at the level of top Premier League strikers.
Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, the former England defender compared the Blues’ forwards to Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Alexander Isak (Liverpool), and Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool).
“I have to say, Chelsea look well short for me, still, up front,” Neville said.
“For all the money that they’ve spent, and I know they’ve got good players in Delap and Joao Pedro.
“But Delap and Pedro are still not at that level. They’re nothing like Haaland, or Isak, or even Ekitike for that matter.”
Chelsea signed Pedro and Delap during the summer to strengthen their attack, but Neville believes the pair have yet to reach the elite standard of their rivals’ goal scorers.
