Turkish sports commentator Zeki Uzundurukan has revealed that Galatasaray are preparing a January move for Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, describing him as a tenacious and versatile talent comparable to his compatriot Victor Osimhen.
Speaking on during an interview, while analysing the club’s winter plans, Uzundurukan disclosed that the Turkish giants have already identified Onyedika as a key target.
“Galatasaray’s target is Raphael Onyedika. Galatasaray will make an attempt in January,” he said, via Habersarikirmizi.
Uzundurukan noted that Onyedika’s ability to operate both as a defensive midfielder (number 6) and a box-to-box option (number 8) makes him particularly attractive.
“He’s a fighter like Osimhen. He also plays for the Nigerian national team,” he added.
The commentator further claimed that Osimhen has been providing Onyedika with information about Galatasaray, as the pair share a close relationship.
“He’s a player Osimhen knows well. He’s been frequently receiving information about Galatasaray from Osimhen. He’s a high-priced player, and a loan offer with an option to buy could be on the cards.”
If Galatasaray proceed with the move, Onyedika could become one of the standout arrivals of the Turkish transfer window.
