Galatasaray’s pursuit of Nigeria international Ademola Lookman has taken a new twist, as the Atalanta forward is now attracting interest from several other European clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
The Turkish giants have been exploring a deal to strengthen their attack, with Lookman high on their shortlist. A successful move would reunite the reigning African Player of the Year with his Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, who also plies his trade in Turkey with Galatasaray.
However, the proposed transfer is now less straightforward, following reports that additional clubs have joined the competition for the 27-year-old winger.
The development was disclosed by renowned football transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, who provided an update on his X account on Monday.
Romano wrote: “Ademola Lookman, on Galatasaray shortlist for January window — not the only name as more clubs are also keen on the Nigerian. One to watch with possible move in 2026.”
Lookman has been one of Atalanta’s standout performers in Europe and Serie A, raising his value and increasing interest from clubs seeking attacking reinforcements. His rising profile—coupled with his performances for Nigeria—continues to make him one of the most sought-after African forwards in top-flight football.
