Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has embarked on a vigorous door-to-door campaign in Mbeere North, rallying support for Democratic Party candidate Newton ‘Karish’ Kariuki. His visits coincide with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s pledge to remain in the constituency until UDA’s Leonard Wamuthende wins the seat.
The 10-day campaign is being closely watched as a litmus test of Gachagua’s influence in the Mount Kenya region.
