Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has defended his remarks on the placement of students in Grade 10 under the competency-based education system (CBE).
Speaking in Nyeri County, Gachagua said his earlier comments on national school placement had been taken out of context. He reiterated that opportunities in top national schools across the country should be shared equitably, while learners from the respective regions should be given priority.
Gachagua argued that the current placement process is unfair and called for a more balanced system. He also accused local leaders of remaining silent on the issue.
