American rapper Future, born Nayvadius DeMun Cash, has spoken candidly about his past relationships, admitting that he wishes he had approached love differently.
In a recent interview on Hot 97, the “Mask Off” hitmaker said his biggest personal regret is not loving “the right way.”
“My biggest regret in life is that I should have loved harder. I should have found a way to love the right way,” he said during the conversation.
The rapper attributed his past shortcomings to the absence of a positive male influence while growing up. According to him, he did not have a role model to demonstrate how to treat a woman with care and affection.
“I came from nothing, and I didn’t have a person or a male role model to show me how to treat a woman. I have never seen someone buy my mum a flower,” he added.
Future, who has nine children with different women, acknowledged that his early romantic experiences shaped his understanding of relationships. However, he emphasised that he is now focused on personal growth and learning from his previous mistakes.
The interview offers a rare moment of reflection from the Grammy-winning artist, known for chart-topping hits and a high-profile personal life.
