The Future Awards Africa 2025 unfolded in a night of glamour and inspiration on Sunday at Lagos’ Landmark Event Centre, celebrating the continent’s most promising young achievers.
Themed “Threads of Legacy,” the 19th edition spotlighted individuals making significant contributions across governance, technology, sports, entrepreneurship, and the arts. The ceremony was hosted by Nollywood actor Mike Afolarin and media personality Azeezah Hashim, attracting leaders from entertainment, business, and public service.
Content creator Mariam “Taaooma” Apaokagi took home the Prize for Content Creation, while Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade was recognised with the Prize for Sports for her outstanding achievements in African football.
Veteran comedian Ali Baba received the honorary Prize for Service to Young People, celebrating decades of mentorship and influence in the creative industry.
The night’s most prestigious accolade, Young Person of the Year, was awarded to Fola David, a medical doctor and visual artist whose work bridges creativity and social impact.
Other winners across diverse categories included innovators, artists, entrepreneurs, and advocates, reflecting Africa’s dynamic new generation of leaders.
