Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele was among the notable figures who graced chef Hilda Baci’s latest Guinness World Record attempt in Lagos.
The event, staged at the Eko Hotel and Suites, attracted a massive crowd eager to witness Baci’s ambitious effort to cook the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice. The custom-built pot used for the attempt measured six meters in diameter and 1.3 meters deep.
Baci set her sights on preparing 250 bags of rice, about 5,278 kilograms with the goal of feeding thousands of attendees. The spectacle not only highlighted her culinary skills but also celebrated Nigerian culture on a global stage.
Akindele’s attendance added glamour to the high-profile event, which was streamed live on social media, giving audiences worldwide the chance to watch the record-breaking bid unfold.
This attempt comes two years after Baci earned international acclaim by setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023.
