Nollywood icons Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham have dispelled long-standing rumors of a feud after being spotted together at a recent movie premiere in Lagos.
For years, speculation swirled that the award-winning actresses were rivals, with many fans attributing the alleged tension to industry competition. But the duo put those claims to rest with a public show of camaraderie.
A viral clip from the premiere of actress Wunmi Toriola and skit maker Kiekie’s film shows Akindele dancing before pausing to chat with Abraham. The two appeared engrossed in conversation, laughing and enjoying the lively atmosphere.
The lighthearted moment drew playful teasing from Kiekie, who joined Akindele on the dance floor while fans cheered.
This display of friendship follows Toyin Abraham’s recent heartfelt message to Akindele, in which she admitted that fan-driven comparisons once fueled tension between them. She clarified, however, that there was never genuine hostility.
By showing solidarity both on social media and in public, Akindele and Abraham appear to have finally laid rivalry rumors to rest, offering fans a glimpse of unity at the top of Nollywood.
