The Ekiti State Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) suspended its Chairman, Pastor Owoola Daramola, over allegations of financial mismanagement and gross misconduct.
The suspension, announced in a statement signed by IPAC Secretary, Hon. Isaac Fayeba, and PRO, Prince Adedayo Ademola, follows an extraordinary executive meeting held on February 26, 2026.
According to the statement, Daramola, a member of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), has been accused of failing to render financial statements for N3.09 million and other donations received on behalf of the council. He has also been accused of parading proxies as IPAC members and appointing a non-member as electoral chairman for the forthcoming IPAC election.
The suspended chairman has reportedly turned the IPAC office into a secretariat for his Rainbow Coalition group, excluding other executives and imposing his preferred candidate as chairman.
The IPAC Ekiti Chapter has appointed Mr Femi Obidoyin of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as acting chairman, pending an investigation by the national headquarters.
The allegations have sparked concerns about the integrity of IPAC and its leadership. The move highlights the growing need for accountability and transparency in Nigerian politics.
