Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Dino Toppmöller says Galatasaray will remain a serious attacking threat even without Victor Osimhen in their UEFA Champions League opener on Thursday.
The Eagles face the Turkish champions at the Deutsche Bank Park, with Osimhen ruled out as he continues recovery from an ankle injury picked up on international duty. The Nigerian striker was left out of Galatasaray’s 23-man squad for the clash.
Toppmöller, however, pointed to Mauro Icardi as a capable replacement.
“We’ll see tomorrow if Osimhen plays. There’s no question he brings his quality. If not, Icardi would play, who has also proven many times that he can score goals,” he told reporters.
“In the end, it doesn’t matter who starts up front; both have tremendous quality, but of course, their game is different.”
