Former Inter Milan striker Nicola Ventola has claimed that Ademola Lookman was a victim of “injustice” during the summer transfer window after his proposed move from Atalanta to Inter Milan failed to materialise.
Speaking during an interview, Ventola said the Nigerian forward had been given assurances that were not honoured.
“Personally, Lookman, in my opinion, is the one who suffered an injustice in the summer,” the 47-year-old said, as quoted by FCInter1908. “After two years, there have been promises not fulfilled.”
Lookman was reportedly keen to join Inter Milan and even submitted a transfer request while skipping training sessions in a bid to force the move. However, the deal eventually collapsed, and he remained at Atalanta.
The 27-year-old joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 and played a key role in the club’s UEFA Europa League triumph, becoming one of their standout performers last season.
