Flamingos head coach Bankole Olowookere has expressed confidence that his team will make a strong impression at the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The Nigerian girls touched down in Casablanca on Wednesday for the final phase of their preparations ahead of the biennial global showpiece.
Olowookere’s side have enjoyed a flawless build-up, winning all 10 of their friendly matches in Abuja, scoring 44 goals without conceding — a run that has bolstered belief in the camp.
“This group has shown great attitude and unity,” Olowookere told thenff.com. “They understand what it means to represent Nigeria, and I believe they can achieve something special in Morocco.”
The Flamingos, bronze medalists at the 2022 edition in India, will compete in Group D alongside France, Canada, and Samoa.
They begin their campaign against Canada on Sunday, October 19, as they look to go one step further and challenge for the ultimate prize.
