Agency urges remaining taxpayers to comply with November 1 e-invoicing deadline to boost transparency and tax compliance….
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has confirmed that many large taxpayers have successfully integrated their systems and begun live transmission of electronic invoices, following the extended compliance deadline of November 1, 2025.
In a statement on Thursday, Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the FIRS, said the rollout of the national e-invoicing and electronic fiscal system (EFS), which began on August 1, 2025, has made steady progress.
“A significant number of large taxpayers have successfully completed their system integrations and commenced live transmission of e-invoices to the Service in compliance with the extended deadline,” Adedeji said.
He added that several other taxpayers are in advanced stages of integration, while service providers continue engaging clients to ensure full adoption and seamless transmission of invoices.
The FIRS chairman commended the cooperation of both taxpayers and service providers, emphasizing the importance of compliance for those yet to integrate their systems.
“All large taxpayers who are yet to complete integration are strongly urged to comply with the e-invoice mandate without further delay, in line with tax laws,” Adedeji said.
The FIRS reiterated its commitment to supporting taxpayers through stakeholder engagement, technical assistance, and training, aiming to make the integration process as smooth as possible.
Launched on August 10, 2025, the e-invoicing system is part of Nigeria’s efforts to modernize revenue collection, improve tax compliance, and provide real-time visibility into commercial transactions, ensuring the authenticity, accuracy, and completeness of invoices.
