FIFA President Gianni Infantino and US President Donald Trump have unveiled the “FIFA Pass,” a new initiative designed to expedite the visa process for fans attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.
The system aims to prioritise tourists who have purchased tickets to matches in the US, allowing them to access shorter wait times for visa appointments. Officials emphasised that the application and verification process remain unchanged, and holding a match ticket does not guarantee entry into the country.
Trump and Infantino urged fans to start their visa applications early, rather than waiting until the last minute, to ensure sufficient time for processing.
The initiative is expected to help streamline travel for the millions of football fans expected to attend matches across the US, making it easier for international supporters to participate in the first World Cup hosted across three countries the US, Canada, and Mexico.
While FIFA Pass provides priority access, all applicants must still meet standard US visa requirements. Organisers stressed that the program is intended to reduce delays but does not override normal immigration procedures.
