The 44th edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) has officially commenced in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State.
The games, which feature participating teams representing federal ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) from across Nigeria, were formally declared open on Thursday. Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta represented Governor Ahmadu Fintiri at the opening ceremony, held at the Mahmud Ribadu Square, and officially inaugurated the games.
Teams from over 80 federal MDAs participated in the impressive opening march past. Reading the governor’s speech during the ceremony, Farauta expressed that Adamawa State takes pride in hosting the event, which provides a stage for the display of national friendship over the next few days.
During the opening ceremony, the Federal Ministry of Works delivered the most outstanding performance in the parade, successfully securing the top spot. The Ministry of Education followed, taking second place, while the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) claimed third place.
The competitive events, which encompass both field and track sports, began earlier in the week at the sports center of the Federal College of Education, Yola. The multi-sport event is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
