Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team, the Falconets, have ended their campaign at the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-20 Women’s Cup in Benin Republic with a perfect record, defeating the hosts 1–0 in their final match on Wednesday.
The encounter at the Omnisport Stadium in Adjohoun saw striker Ramotalahi Kareem net the decisive goal in the 16th minute, calmly slotting home after a brilliant through pass. The in-form forward finished as the tournament’s top scorer with four goals.
Already confirmed as champions before kick-off, the Falconets dominated proceedings and created several scoring chances but were unable to add to their lead. Benin rallied late in search of an equaliser, but Nigeria’s defence held firm to seal victory.
Coach Moses Aduku’s side wrapped up the competition with 12 points from four matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding just one. Ghana finished second with six points, while the hosts ended without a point.
Midfielder Kafayat Mafisere was named Woman of the Match for her tireless display in midfield, while Ghana’s Sarah Nyarko claimed the tournament’s Best Player award.
The result capped a dominant outing for the Falconets, who had earlier recorded emphatic 3–0 wins over both Ghana and Benin to clinch the title with a game to spare.
