Facebook has overtaken TikTok as Kenya’s most popular social media platform.
New data from Cloudflare shows that the Meta-owned platform climbed to second place among the country’s most visited websites in 2025, behind Google.
The shift is attributed to Facebook’s increased focus on short-form video through its Reels feature, which mirrors TikTok’s design and algorithm. Instagram and WhatsApp also grew in popularity, while X (formerly Twitter) dropped out of Kenya’s top 10 websites.
Globally, Google remained the most visited service, followed by Facebook. TikTok slipped to eighth place worldwide, reflecting intensifying competition from Meta’s video-driven strategy.
