Nigeria’s Ezekiel Nathaniel stormed into the final of the men’s 400m hurdles at the 2025 World Athletics Championships on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old clocked an impressive 47.47s to win his semi-final race, becoming only the second Nigerian in history to reach the final of the event.
The first was Henry Amike, who achieved the feat at the 1987 World Championships in Rome, Italy.
Nathaniel will return to the track on Friday in search of a medal, hoping to add to Nigeria’s tally after Tobi Amusan’s silver medal earlier in the competition.
