Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has stirred conversation online after sharing her perspective on the role of finances in relationships.
During a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Anunobi suggested that many men struggle with feeling fulfilled when they depend financially on their partners.
According to the actress, men naturally desire the role of provider in relationships, and lacking financial capacity can affect their sense of confidence and authority within the home.
“There’s no man that feels complete when a woman is feeding him,” she said. “A man wants to be able to give instructions to his wife. It’s a male thing. A man needs to have money.”
Anunobi explained that financial stability often strengthens a man’s confidence, particularly in marriage.
She also shared her views on the expectations many women have in relationships, noting that a number of women take pride in being cared for by their partners.
“I’m a woman, I want to be taken care of. It’s the joy of a woman,” she said, adding that the sentiment can exist regardless of a woman’s financial status.
The actress’ remarks have generated mixed reactions on social media, with some agreeing with her perspective on traditional relationship roles while others argue that modern partnerships should be built on shared financial responsibility.
