Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has expressed confidence that Nigeria can clinch an 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title when the competition kicks off in 2026.
The defending champions booked their place in the WAFCON 2026 finals after a 3–1 aggregate victory over Benin Republic’s Amazons on Tuesday.
The upcoming tournament will also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Speaking with Channels Television, Okoronkwo said the team’s goal is clear — to defend their crown and make history.
“Yes, with Nigeria, everything is possible for sure,” she said.
“We’re not going there to not want to win or just go there for vibes. We want to win the 11th [WAFCON title] for sure.”
The Super Falcons remain the most successful team in the competition’s history, having won 10 titles so far.
