While the opening 45 minutes featured numerous scoring opportunities and heightened tension within both penalty areas, neither side was able to break the deadlock, leading to a scoreless stalemate at the interval. The breakthrough finally arrived in the 60th minute when Chidera Michael found the back of the net to put the hosts in front. However, the Umuahia-based visitors refused to capitulate, eventually restoring parity in the 87th minute through a strike by Emeka Obioma.
