
Some members of the Enugu State Executive Council have pledged their loyalty to Governor Peter Mbah as he prepares to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
In a video uploaded on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Dan Nwomeh, on X (formerly Twitter), the cabinet members were seen declaring support for Mbah’s imminent move to the ruling party.
The video featured the Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Lawrence Ezeh; the Chairman of the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board, Dr. Amaka S. Ngene; and the Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Dr. Felix Nnamani.
Nwomeh wrote, “Government House has realigned and connected to the centre.
The APC flag was also seen hoisted at the Enugu State Government House in anticipation of the governor’s formal defection.
Meanwhile, the APC has confirmed that Mbah will officially join the party on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Enugu.
Speaking to journalists after his swearing-in at the APC National Secretariat on Friday, the Enugu APC Caretaker Chairman, Ben Nwoye, said the governor would defect alongside several lawmakers and key political figures across the state.
APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and Deputy National Chairman (South), Emma Eneukwu, also disclosed that the move was part of broader efforts to strengthen the party’s structure and influence in the South-East.
According to report the APC dissolved the Enugu State Executive Committee to pave the way for Mbah’s entry into the ruling party.
