Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, and Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, have activated an expanded bilateral interline agreement, marking a major milestone for Nigeria’s aviation and international connectivity. The move strengthens Nigeria’s position as a key hub for African travelers seeking seamless access to global destinations, including Dubai, London, and beyond.
Under the agreement, passengers traveling from Nigeria can enjoy single-ticket journeys with through-checked baggage on select routes, creating a frictionless travel experience that saves time and enhances convenience. The partnership now connects major Nigerian cities such as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Kano with Emirates’ global network.
Beyond these established Nigerian gateways, the expanded interline agreement also opens routes from Nigeria to Banjul in Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan, and to Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia via Accra. This expansion ensures that more Nigerian travelers can easily access West and Central African destinations while enjoying Emirates’ world-class service standards.
The agreement also enables Air Peace to link its extensive Nigerian and regional routes with Emirates’ Dubai hub, facilitating onward travel to key international destinations such as London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London Stansted. With increasing demand for flights between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, this partnership offers travelers greater flexibility, convenience, and choice, while positioning Nigeria as a premier air travel gateway for Africa.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said, “Strengthening our partnership with Air Peace expands Emirates’ footprint across Africa, particularly Nigeria. We are creating new opportunities for Nigerians to travel seamlessly, while helping international visitors explore Nigeria’s diverse culture, tourism, and business landscape.”
Nowel Ngala, Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer, emphasised, “This interline agreement represents a major step in Nigeria’s aviation growth. By connecting our strong domestic and regional network with Emirates’ global reach, we are delivering seamless travel experiences and enhancing Nigeria’s role as a critical bridge between Africa and the world.”
On the Dubai-Lagos route, Emirates operates its flagship Boeing 777-300ER, offering award-winning inflight entertainment, regionally inspired meals prepared by top chefs, and a luxurious First-Class cabin. Nigerian passengers now enjoy one of the most premium travel experiences in the region.
Air Peace, with a fleet of over 50 aircraft including Boeing 737s, 777s, and Embraers, continues to expand its domestic, regional, and international services. The airline’s growth strengthens Nigeria’s intra-African connectivity, supports trade and tourism, and contributes significantly to the country’s economic development.
Tickets for the Emirates-Air Peace interline can be booked on emirates.com, flyairpeace.com, or via authorised travel agents.
